I remember in my kindergarton class how one day my teacher started telling my class of a character that came early in December and left candy in our shoes. So of course, all of my classmates and myself became thrilled with the idea and immediately took off our shoes and placed them outside the door. Moments later, my teacher opened the door and "like magic" candy filled our shoes. I had completely forgotten about that day until we discussed it in german class when i realized that i participated in this holiday 13 years ago.
